Lifeguard Education Grants

The Encinitas Lifesaving Association is the non profit arm of the City of Encinitas Marine Safety Division, a part of the 9-1-1 system employing ocean lifeguards. We provide annual monetary assistance to ensure these individuals develop the skills necessary to provide exceptional public service, from ongoing medical education to specific trainings like dive and cliff rescue. LEARN MORE>>

Water & Beach Safety

Many of our members are current or former Encinitas Lifeguards, responsible for managing the 3.5 miles of beach between South Ponto and Swami's. Lifeguard services include providing safety information to the public, preventative public safety, mitigation of safety hazards on the beach, open- and under-water rescues, first-aid, cliff rescues, and animal rescues. LEARN MORE>>

Learn to Swim Assistance

Drowning is the #1 cause of death or injury to children ages 1 to 4. The ELA partners with other non-profits to fund Learn to Swim, a program designed to teach children to be water safe through year round swim lessons, logical skill progression, safety awareness, and endurance. LEARN MORE>>
